C&C Yachts is excited to announce our new dealer VMG Yachts. Please read below to learn more about their dealership.
Established in 2007, VMG Yachts specializes in the sales and brokerage of performance sailing yachts and racing yachts in Japan, primarily Tokyo and Yokohama.
VMG Yachts accommodates a full range of sailors’ yachting and racing performance needs, including mast stepping & fitting, tuning, crew coordination, coaching, and racing. Koichi Matsuzaki, the founder of VMG Yachts, has 30 years of yachting experience.
He began sailing with the Snipe and 470 classes and has participated in J-24Worlds, and has experience with IOR, IMS, and IRC boats. He has also raced on Russell Coutts 44, SWAN 42, and X-35 OD.
Koichi established VMG Yachts soon after his return from the Trans Pacific Speed Record Challenge 2006 (72’ mono-hull) in which he sailed from San Francisco, CA in the US to Yokohama, Japan.
In 2009, VMG Yachts coordinated the first Summit 35 launch in Japan with Barry Carroll.
In 2013, the company completed a major project of launching the first Mills Design/M.A.T.1010 in Japan. Being a sailor himself, Koichi is currently involved with this team.
“It’s a great honor and privilege for VMG Yachts to have been given the opportunity to work with C&C and Barry Carroll. VMG Yachts is eager to promote the new C&C models in Japan, specifically the Mark Mills designed C&C 30 One Design.” – Koichi Matsuzaki
